Lore[]

Time Period[]
Farm Merge Valley is a game that is theorized to take place around the 1940s, as the main transport of the game to visit your friends is a train. Furthermore, the automobiles resemble cars and vehicles that are reminiscent of the World War II era.
In truth, it is set in the dread domains of Shadowfell, where seasons have come to a standstill and the mist engulfed much but the few remaining inhabitable crops of land. Eventually as they increase in levels, the player will manage to retain their sanity traversing further into the mist, but the dread of the universe actively fight against their attempt, demanding sacrifices of livestock and gems for its domain to be traversed.
Farm Expansion[]
By selling items in the shops and merging crops and animals, the Player manages to become more experienced in traversing the farm (leveling up), therefore being able to cross the Fog in areas previously unreachable.
The further 'The Fog' is from the start of the farm, the harder is going through it. However, to be able to truly occupy the newfound region, the Player still has to pay his grandparent's debt using their money.
After everything is complete, more spaces are added to the farm.
Neighboring Farmers[]
Maggie[]
An old friend of the Player's grandparent. She also owns her own farm, which is the first you can visit upon starting the game. She met the Player's family as her farm was the closest to theirs, becoming very close to the Player's grandparent.
Around the time of the death of the Player's grandparent, she was rumored to have spent more time than usual at the Player's grandparent's farm, socializing around teatime. However, she was also seen carrying a clipboard and camera while roaming the property at odd hours of the day. Additionally, some townspeople noticed that she did not appear sad at the Player's grandparent's funeral, but in fact, was seen smirking as the grandparent was lowered into the grave. According to the rumors, she only showed true emotions when the reading of the grandparent's will occurred, with the Player being the sole beneficiary. The emotion she revealed was rage.
In the present day, Maggie is rumored to use her connections with certain animal breeds to seek out further information from the Player’s farm. Some suspect her to be using pigs for reconnaissance activities rather than be seen on the property herself, knowing that the Player is more mobile and active on the farm than the grandparent was, due to the grandparent’s age and declining health. For this reason, Maggie never visits the Player’s farm beyond the initial move-in period.
There are some claims regarding Maggie which have not been verified, and which are disputed. These include rumors that track the 1940s time period theory, which state that Maggie is working for Axis forces and may be supplying their armies with either her harvests and/or intel she receives from her animal allies. This theory implies that the Player is on the side of Allied forces.
Gary[]
There are several theories about who Gary is. In most of these theories, Gary is thought to be a true ally of the Player, unlike Maggie, who appears to have ulterior motives to her friendship. Unfortunately, interactions with Gary are minimal (see Crate Drops - Investor Theory for a possible explanation for this distance).
The Player's Friends[]
In order to gerrymander ahead of the next local election, the Player must recruit their friends and help them grow their farm by purchasing additional territory. This not only helps ensure proper zoning for the Player’s businesses, but also ensures collective power of aligned interests. This power can be used to limit the growth of Maggie’s farm by rezoning the properties surrounding hers to allow additional residential and multipurpose use, all for the ultimate goal of keeping her power and evil intentions at bay.
Woody[1][]
Woody makes rare appearances in the game; while he is not a neighbouring farmer, he is a local shirtless worker who offers his services for free. Some believe that he records his work to post on TikTok and adult sites in order to earn money from adsense and sponsors. However, this belief contradicts the 1940s time period theory. Woody usually wears a hard hat, suspenders, and jeans and can usually be seen with a pickaxe. He has been spotted in early October 2023 (dressed normally), late October 2023 (dressed as Frankenstein), and throughout November 2023 (dressed normally). He has not been seen since then. It is unclear if he has remained in the region or if he was drafted into the war (in accordance with the 1940s time period theory
Seasons[]
In the past, the region used to experience seasons. The changes in temperature also brought seasonal items. However, in recent times the season has not changed[Page 1]. As such, the Player no longer has access to items such as pumpkins, Christmas trees, and more. There are several theories that exist about why this may have occurred. Following the WWII theory, it may be the case that holidays were paused during ongoing war efforts to ensure efficient allocation of resources to military needs. Another theory states that climate change has affected this region, creating milder winters and summers alike; in this scenario, changes in weather patterns have shifted Plant Hardiness Zones[2], making certain seasonal crops not viable in the region.
Gameplay[]
Merging Items[]
By dragging one of the items in the game (animals, crops, coins, crystals, energy rays, gems, keys, tools, greenhouse parts, wood logs or bricks) into one of two or more of the same item while their squares are directly connected, the Player can create a higher rank of the same type of item, to a maximum variating on the item.
- Animals and crops have a maximum rank of 4, which gives ingredients in return that can be sold.
- Wood and Stone have a maximum rank of 8, each rank being used to fix different buildings.
- Tools have a maximum rank of 10, each rank also being used to fix different buildings.
- Keys have a maximum rank of 3, each rank being used to open their respective chest.
- Coins have a maximum rank of 8, each rank giving progressively more money to the Player when consumed.
- Energy rays have a maximum rank of 4, each rank giving progressively more energy to the Player when consumed.
- Gems have a maximum rank of 6, each rank giving progressively more gems to the Player when consumed.
Opening Crates[]
Supplies are the main resource of the game. Every 5 minutes you will get another 5 Crates to a maximum of 40. Supplies can spawn wheat, sugarcane, carrot, soybeans, sunflower, corn, coffee plant, tomato plant, avocado plant, chicken, cow, goat, pig, sheep, deer, or mutant hybrid. Reward Chests, Reward crate keys and tickets. Reward Chests and Reward Keys rarely come out of Supplies. Each comes in bronze, silver and gold varieties. Unlocking a Reward Chest with two of the corresponding Reward Keys grants rewards of Gems, Tools and Greenhouse components. When opening Reward chests, while all squares are occupied, the greenhouse part will be placed in a bubble rather than on a square, saving space. The bubbles can be dragged to the side and don't disappear over time.
Buildings and Land[]
As you level up, land is unlocked but covered by fog, which you can remove by buying the land with coins. New land mostly contains rocks and trees, but sometimes contains buildings, items, or removable obstacles.
Repairing buildings and producing resources are a core part of the game. Producing resources gives you coins, which are used to buy land. Broken buildings are revealed as you unlock more land and need to be repaired before they can produce resources or get stored away. Buildings can be moved (click and hold the building for an arrow to appear; once the arrow turns green, the building can be dragged and moved to another space). Check Buildings and Upgrades for more info on buildings in the game.
Clearing Space[]
To clear Rocks and Trees, you must use Energy to cut down trees and mine rocks (rock & stone!). You can get energy by visiting Maggie or other player Farms, you can also wait for the energy to recharge itself which you get 1 every 3 minutes so 150 minutes (about 2.5 hours). When the Player receives a toolbox, the toolbox can also be broken down and cleared in the same way. Toolboxes Have 3 tiers. Check Tools for more information.
You can also use the shovel on the right-side toolbar to remove items. However, the Player receives nothing when items are cleared in this way. Thus, it is recommended to use only when clearing less-desirable items (such as bronze and silver chests) or when there are no mergeable items. Rocks & Trees in their natural state, Train and Buildings are non-removable.
Some removable items such as Tires and Haybale require another player to visit and tap on the icon shown above them to help remove them.
Experience Rates[]
The experience rate seems to be determined by the number of items produced from a merge. This implies that a Lucky Merge yields extra XP, and that a Merge 5 is efficient in terms of both items and XP. The term "Level" refers to the level of the items produced, not the items merged. These rates were tested using Crops, Animals, and Coins. Testing for Energy and Gems has not been conducted yet.
Visiting Other Farms[]
When opening a crate, the Player has a chance to receive a Train Ticket, which allows them to visit their friend's or NPC's farms. While visiting their farms, the Player can give them some boosts, like coins, energy, boxes and heart one of their animals. Upon going back to their own farm, the Player also receives the same boosts given.
If a friend has not visited before, or has not been visited in 24 hours, the Player can get double the resources by visiting them, indicated by the "x2" icon on the side of the name whose farm will be visited.
When visiting a farm, you will always get:
- 2 crops from one of the 4th-tier crops they have
- 2 animal products from one of the 4th-tier animals they have
- 10 energy from one of their trees or rocks
- 10 crates
- 4 coins
- If the farm has a tire/hay bale that needs help to remove (muscle icon) one of the above may be replaced.
- If you already have ≥ 50 energy, you will not get any energy from visiting someone.
- These drops are doubled if you have not visited the farm for 24 hours, denoted by the pink 2x symbol.
Tips[]
More tips can be found at the Tips and Strategies page.
Merge Five[]

By merging exactly 5 of the same items at once, the Player receives 2 of the higher rank of the same type of item which would normally use up 6, therefore consuming one item less.
When merging any number of items, the game will round up to reduce leftovers before prioritizing Merge Fives. For example, merging 10 tier-1 items will result in 4 tier-2 items. This is the result of 2 Merge Fives and produces no leftovers. One might expect that merging 11 tier-1 items would result in 4 tier-2 items from the Merge Fives and 1 leftover tier 1-item. However, the game optimizes to remove leftovers. Merging 11 tier-1 items will actually give 4 tier-2 items and no leftovers, because the game calculates this merge as one Merge Five and 2 Merge Threes.
Lucky Merge[]

When merging items, there is a small chance (About 5%) that a Lucky Merge is triggered, giving the Player an additional higher rank of the same type of item. It is possible to trigger a Lucky Merge twice while doing a Merge Five, therefore giving the Player 4 items in total (1 from the normal merge, 1 from merging five items, 1 from a lucky merge triggered by the normal merge and 1 from a lucky merge triggered by the Merge Five)
Maximum Train Tickets[]
The Player can only hold 3 train tickets maximum. When you reach 3 tickets, it is recommended to use one immediately. Crates will not drop train tickets if the Player already has 3.
Upgrade Cards[]
Upgrade Cards can be used to improve crops and animal yields. These cards come from plants and animals during the harvesting process; the Player has a random chance (probability unknown) to receive a 1-star card during harvesting. Cards can either be redeemed at each tier to improve yields or be merged to create the next card. There is a 1-star, 2-star, and 3-star card. Once the Player redeems the 3-star card, there will be no future card drops for that plant/animal. Existing cards (i.e. those already on the farm at the time the 3-star card is redeemed) for that plant or animal will instead immediately convert to gems, as those cards are no longer usable for their intended purpose. This nuance can be exploited through card hoarding.

Gems can be farmed from Star Cards.
After upgrading a plant or animal to a 3 Star unit, all your remaining cards of same unit as 3Star card are converted to Gems.
3 star cards give 81 + 9 gems
2 star cards give 27 + 3 gems
1 star card give 9 + 1 gems
Caution after you upgrade Plant/Animal to a 3 Star, you will not be able to collect further cards. So it's best to maintain things to 2* star and farm some cards for easy Gems; This got patched, god did not want us to be rich
Efficient Farming Method[]

Discord Integration[]
OFFICAL DISCORD OF FARM MERGE VALLEY[]
Benefits of Playing on Discord[]
Aside from gaining new players to talk about the game and game lore with, having friends on the game serves a key purpose. By visiting friends and being visited by friends, you receive additional crates, energy, and more. The key factor here is that you are more likely to receive additional train tickets. By visiting back and forth (and refreshing your game after you have been visited or by returning after visiting others) you can rack up virtually unlimited amounts of energy as you continuously receive new train tickets via the fast accumulation of crates. This allows for speedy removal of trees, rocks, and toolboxes. To optimize this benefit, it is recommended to take care of the first stages of the removal process while all friends are online.
Troubleshooting[]
If the player encounters a black screen when trying to load the game, there are several troubleshooting options available.
- Enable hardware acceleration: In Discord settings, go to Voice & Video. Ensure that Hardware Acceleration is on or toggled off and on.
- Clear cache: Navigate to C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\discord. Delete GPUCache, CodeCache, and Cache. Then restart Discord. This will NOT restart your game progress.
- Wait: While not an ideal situation, sometimes the game will revert to normal after a short period of time. Use this opportunity to pursue other hobbies.
FAQ[]
"Which of the locked crates should I be opening?"[]
Depends on how much space you have, but the general rule of thumb is:
Gold - Most space efficient (good for early game but not worth waiting for later on)
Silver - Best for tools
Bronze - Best for gems
"What's the deal with cards? should I upgrade to 3 stars?"[]
3 star is max level for animals/crops. Once you activate a 3-star card, you'll no longer get any more cards for that animal/crop. All remaining cards for that crop are converted to gems once you upgrade to 3 star which is why you see people hoard them before they're ready to cash out. There is no correct time to upgrade to level 3, just do so when you are satisfied
